Settlement for individuals arrested or prosecuted under Washington, D.C.'s gun control laws outside their home or place of business during the specified period.

This settlement resolves a class action lawsuit against Washington, D.C. for allegedly unconstitutional arrests and prosecutions related to carrying guns outside homes or businesses between 2012 and 2014. Eligible individuals may receive up to $2,400.

• Individuals arrested or prosecuted by the D.C. Metropolitan Police for gun control violations outside home or business between May 15, 2012 and Oct. 10, 2014.
• No prior felony convictions before arrest or prosecution.
• No domestic violence misdemeanor convictions within five years before arrest or prosecution.
• Not subject to judicial firearm possession orders at the time of arrest or prosecution.
• Not convicted of a felony or violent misdemeanor resulting from the arrest.
