The University of Phoenix has agreed to a $8.75 million class action settlement to resolve allegations that it improperly disclosed students’ personally identifiable information to Meta Platforms Inc. and other third parties without consent, violating privacy laws. Individuals who enrolled at the University of Phoenix from April 1, 2023, through Oct. 6, 2026, or from April 1, 2020, through Oct. 6, 2026 (for Illinois residents), may be eligible to claim a $25 cash payment. Claims must be submitted by November 5, 2026. Payout options include Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or a physical check.
