An Illinois federal judge has granted preliminary approval to a $18.7 million class action settlement involving House of Raeford Farms Inc. and Prestage Farms Inc. The settlements resolve claims that these companies, along with others, participated in an alleged conspiracy to fix turkey prices by sharing sensitive information through Agri Stats Inc. House of Raeford will pay $3.7 million and Prestage Farms will pay $15 million. These settlements are part of a larger litigation that has been ongoing since 2019, with total recovery from prior settlements reaching nearly $59.2 million.
