About this settlement
The lawsuit concerned defective lamp units in certain Toshiba DLP TVs that caused premature failure and replacement costs.
This class action addressed a design defect in Toshiba 2004 and 2005 model DLP televisions causing lamp units to fail much earlier than the advertised 6,000 to 8,000 hours, sometimes as low as 300 hours. The settlement was approved by courts in Ontario and Quebec, but the claim period is now closed.
