Telmate LLC, d/b/a Viapath Technologies, has agreed to a $4.23 million class action settlement to resolve claims stemming from a data breach that occurred in August 2020. The lawsuit alleges that Telmate failed to implement adequate security measures and provide timely notice to individuals whose personal information was compromised. The compromised data included names, dates of birth, contact information, Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, and financial account information. Approximately 431,031 people were affected. Class members can claim reimbursement for documented out-of-pocket losses up to $5,000 or a pro rata cash payment from the remaining settlement fund.
