TED Foundation Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed users’ personally identifiable information to third-party service providers without proper consent, violating the Video Privacy Protection Act. US TED account holders who watched a prerecorded video on TED.com or through TED’s mobile apps between Oct. 19, 2021, and July 14, 2026, may qualify for up to $5 cash or two free months of TED membership. A claim form is not required for the membership benefit.
