Class action settlement regarding recalled Silk and Great Value plant-based beverages contaminated with Listeria.
A $7.5 million class-action settlement has been reached in Canada involving Silk and Great Value plant-based refrigerated beverages recalled due to Listeria contamination. The lawsuit, filed against Danone Canada, Walmart Canada, and Intact Insurance Company, alleged that the recalled products posed a safety risk and that the defendants were negligent in their recall programs. The outbreak linked to these products resulted in three deaths, 20 illnesses, and 15 hospitalizations. Eligible Canadians who purchased or consumed the recalled products and experienced physical or psychological harm may be eligible for compensation ranging from $400 to $300,000, depending on the severity of the injury.
