Progressive County Mutual Insurance has agreed to an $8 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to process and pay personal injury protection (PIP) medical bills within the timeframes required by Texas law. Policyholders who submitted a covered medical bill under a Texas-based Progressive PIP policy and for whom Progressive paid a bill more than 15 business days or 30 days after receiving it, between Aug. 30, 2016, and June 1, 2026, may be eligible for a cash payment. The total settlement fund is $8 million, with up to $6 million allocated for class member payments.
