Class action settlement against eight major pork producers for alleged antitrust violations and price fixing.

Eight major pork producers, including Agri Stats, Clemens, Hormel, JBS, Seaboard, Smithfield, Triumph, and Tyson, are settling a class action lawsuit for a combined $117 million. The lawsuit alleges that these companies violated antitrust laws by illegally raising prices through price fixing and coordinating production costs using data from Agri Stats. Tyson will pay $85 million of the total settlement. Consumers who indirectly purchased affected pork products for personal use between June 28, 2014, and June 30, 2018, in 24 specific states or the District of Columbia may be eligible for compensation. A claim form must be submitted online or by mail by October 29, 2026. The court hearing is scheduled for December 11, 2026.
