The settlement addresses economic losses from recalled Philips respiratory devices containing harmful foam that may cause health issues.

This class action concerns a recall of Philips CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator devices due to health risks from degrading foam that may cause serious injuries including cancer. A $20 million CAD partial settlement for economic loss claims has been proposed and awaits approval by BC and Quebec courts. The settlement excludes personal injury claims. Eligible Canadians who purchased or used affected devices are included unless they opt out by the deadline.

• Family members or estates who purchased devices on behalf of class members.
• Those who claim to have incurred economic losses related to the recalled products.
