This settlement resolves claims against Palms Associates and Durham Mews for charging illegal eviction fees to North Carolina renters. Eligible class members who received threatening collection letters or paid eviction fees during the specified period may receive compensation.
Who qualifies
- Residents of North Carolina properties owned or managed by Palms Associates LLC or Durham Mews LLC.
- Received a collection letter threatening eviction fees between Oct. 7, 2016 and June 25, 2018.
- Paid eviction fees between Oct. 7, 2016 and June 25, 2018.
- May qualify for one or both classes.
