Muscatine Power and Water agreed to a $525,000 class action settlement to resolve claims that a targeted cyberattack in January 2024 exposed sensitive customer data, including names, mailing addresses, driver's license information, bank routing and account numbers, and Social Security numbers. Individuals who received notice of the breach and had their data compromised may be eligible to claim up to $5,600. Benefits include up to $500 for documented out-of-pocket expenses, up to $5,000 for documented extraordinary losses due to identity theft or fraud, and up to $100 for attested time spent responding to the breach.
