This settlement resolves claims that the Missouri Sheriffs’ Retirement System was funded by unfair court fees. Individuals who paid a $3 surcharge as part of court costs to resolve a municipal citation between August 28, 2013, and August 1, 2021, may be eligible for a portion of the $18 million settlement fund. A claim form is required, and documentation may be needed for verification.
