Data breach affecting personal and health information of LSC patients and employees.

Laboratory Services Cooperative (LSC) agreed to a $6.1 million class action settlement to resolve allegations that a data breach compromised the personal and health information of current and former patients and employees. The cyberattack, discovered in October 2024, impacted approximately 1.6 million people and may have exposed personally identifiable information and protected health information, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and medical records. Class members can claim up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses traceable to the breach, or a pro rata cash payment of up to $1,000, or two free years of credit and medical monitoring services. The claim deadline is November 24, 2026.
