FinWise Bank

A class action settlement concerning a data breach at FinWise Bank that compromised customer personal information.

FinWise Bank, FinWise Bancorp, and American First Finance have agreed to a $2.8 million class action settlement to resolve claims stemming from a data breach around May 31, 2024. The breach exposed sensitive personal information, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and customer account numbers, of an estimated 668,000 current and former account holders. Class members can claim up to $5,000 for documented losses traceable to the breach, such as identity theft expenses or credit monitoring costs. Alternatively, they can opt for a pro rata cash payment from the remaining settlement fund. All class members are eligible for two years of three-bureau credit monitoring. California residents may receive up to double the cash fund payment. The deadline to file a claim is October 29, 2026.

If you do not have every document, you may still be able to file. Many settlements accept claims without receipts.
