About this settlement

Allegations of underpayment of wages, failure to provide meal and rest breaks, and unlawful restrictions on outside employment for FedEx workers in Washington.

FedEx has agreed to pay $30.8 million to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it underpaid Washington workers on wages and breaks and restricted them from taking second jobs. The lawsuit claims FedEx failed to provide and pay for required meal and rest breaks, edited time records to deprive workers of wages, and maintained a policy that unlawfully restricted employees from holding outside jobs. The settlement fund will be divided among three subclasses: wage, older moonlighting, and newer moonlighting. No claim form is required for settlement class members who do not exclude themselves. The court has not yet ruled on the request for preliminary approval.
