Alleged failure by Equifax to properly investigate and respond to consumer disputes about hard inquiries on credit files.

Equifax Information Services LLC has agreed to a $30 million settlement to resolve four class action lawsuits. The lawsuits alleged that Equifax failed to properly investigate and respond to consumer disputes about hard inquiries on their credit files, and did not maintain reasonable procedures for such disputes or remove disputed inquiries as required by law. Individuals who disputed a hard inquiry on their Equifax credit report between October 4, 2016, and March 27, 2026, may be eligible to claim approximately $100 to $400. There are three groups of class members: Certified group, General dispute group, and a New York subclass. The settlement fund includes administration costs, attorneys' fees, expenses, service awards, and payments to eligible class members.

You may be eligible if you:

• Individuals residing in the United States and its territories for whom Equifax received a mailed letter disputing one or more hard inquiries between Oct. 4, 2016, and March 27,...
• Individuals for whom Equifax received one or more disputes of a hard inquiry between Aug. 31, 2021, and March 27, 2026.
• Individuals in New York who received a specific response letter for a mailed dispute between Nov. 27, 2017, and Sept. 10, 2024.

If you do not have every document, you may still be able to file. Many settlements accept claims without receipts.
