Clorox is accused of selling Mistolin and Lestoil cleaners contaminated with bacteria, potentially posing serious health risks.
Allegations that Clorox sold Mistolin and Lestoil cleaners contaminated with bacteria without proper warning.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against The Clorox Company, alleging that scented Mistolin and Lestoil multi-purpose cleaners were sold with a contamination of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a bacterium that can cause serious infections. The plaintiffs claim Clorox was aware of the vulnerability after a previous recall of Pine-Sol for the same issue but sold the products without adequate warning. A recall for approximately 6.3 million bottles was issued on September 3, 2026, for products manufactured between April 1, 2025, and June 17, 2026. The lawsuit asserts that Clorox violated California consumer protection laws and seeks damages for consumers who purchased these cleaners in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
