Settlement for individuals whose personal information was compromised in the June 2025 Carter Credit Union data breach.

Carter Credit Union is settling a class action lawsuit alleging that a cyberattack in June 2025 exposed sensitive personal information of approximately 105,185 customers and former customers. The lawsuit claimed the credit union failed to adequately protect data including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, financial account details, medical information, and dates of birth. Class members can choose between reimbursement for documented out-of-pocket losses up to $2,500, a $50 alternative cash payment, or enrollment in credit monitoring services with $1 million in financial fraud insurance. The claim deadline is November 19, 2026.

You may be eligible if you:

• Current and former Carter Credit Union customers who received a notice stating their personal information may have been compromised in the June 2025 data breach.

• Dates tied to your purchase or account activity
• Proof of purchase or supporting documents

If you do not have every document, you may still be able to file. Many settlements accept claims without receipts.

• Submit required documentation for out-of-pocket loss claims.
