An alleged conspiracy by auto parts manufacturers to fix the prices of about 45 automotive parts, causing Canadians to overpay for new vehicles.
These Canadian class actions concern an alleged conspiracy by auto parts manufacturers to fix the prices of approximately 45 automotive parts, which allegedly caused consumers to overpay for new vehicles and parts. A third distribution of settlement funds has been approved and claims are open. Eligible class members purchased or leased a new passenger car, SUV, van, or light truck (up to 10,000 lbs) from affected automakers — including BMW/Mini, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and others — during the relevant periods listed on the settlement website. The automakers are not defendants and no wrongdoing is alleged against them. Each approved claim is expected to receive a minimum of $25, paid proportionally. The actions are brought by Sotos LLP, Siskinds LLP, Siskinds Desmeules and CFM LLP, and administered by RicePoint Administration (now Verita Global).
