The Federal Court certified and approved a $150-million settlement for current or former Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members who faced racial discrimination or racial harassment during their military service. The claims period opened on October 15, 2025, and will close on October 15, 2026. The settlement covers individuals enrolled as CAF members from April 17, 1985, up to January 2025, who assert they were subjected to racial discrimination and/or harassment. Compensation ranges from $5,000 to $35,000, depending on the duration and severity of the experience.
