Monetary payments, apologies, and restorative engagement for CAF members who experienced racial discrimination or harassment.

The individual claims process for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Systemic Racism Class Action settlement is closing on October 15, 2026. Current and former CAF members who experienced racial discrimination or racial harassment during their military service between April 17, 1985, and January 10, 2025, may submit a claim for monetary payment. Claimants may also apply for a letter of apology and/or participate in a Restorative Engagement program. Final monetary payment amounts will depend on the class size. Systemic Relief Measures are also being implemented to address and eliminate racism within the CAF.

You may be eligible if you:

• Current and former CAF members who experienced racial discrimination or racial harassment during their military service between April 17, 1985, and January 10, 2025.

• Basic contact information
• Dates tied to your purchase or account activity
• Proof of purchase or supporting documents

If you do not have every document, you may still be able to file. Many settlements accept claims without receipts.

• Submit your claim by the deadline of October 15, 2026.
• You may also apply for a letter of apology or participate in the Restorative Engagement program.
